FAQ regarding policies for payment and on line proofs
When will I be billed for my order?
IPV will bill your credit card when you place your order. If you are paying by check, we will begin work on your order when we receive the check.
Our artist goes to work as soon as you initiate your order. It takes time and skill to layout and present your on line proof, and to pick up corrections, if necessary. We do not do proofs unless we are printing the order, and that’s why we require payment in full up front. All of our cards are published on demand. We do not carry inventory of any printed matter. When you place an order with us, we are printing up the cards exclusively for you.
IPV never does any work “on spec”, meaning we will not do any layout or artwork without payment up front. Please be sure that you’re ready to go ahead and see the work through to completion before placing your order with us. If you have any reservations about placing an order with us, you can feel free to e-mail Debbie McKinley with your questions. She’ll be glad to answer you and provide you with samples of work we’ve done for previous customers.
What is the purpose of the on line proof?
The purpose of the on line proof is to show the customer exactly how his/her order will look before we go to print. We are interested in having the customer proof read names, dates, and addresses.
These proofs are never done “on spec”. Rather, these proofs are done so that both IPV and the customer can be sure that there will be no errors in text when we do go to print.
IPV requests that you have your text finalized before you place the order. We are happy to pick up small revisions, and we will always correct mistakes made on our behalf. But we prefer not to be asked to change entire verses and styles of cards. We ask that you limit the number of revisions you request. If you make more than three changes to your original text or layout, there will be surcharges added for additional proofs.
If you are concerned with print quality of the final product, we urge you to request a sample of work we’ve done for previous customers *before* you place your order.
We encourage you to place your order as early as possible. If you are under the gun, and you have to resort to a rush job, we are still glad to help you. However, the earlier you place your order, the better your chances of having it meet with your satisfaction, and the less wear and tear there will be on you as the date of your affair draws closer.
When can I expect to see my on line proof?
On line proofs are available within 48 hours of initiation of your order. In most cases, they are available the day after you place your order.
How do I let you know if I approve, or if I need changes made to the proof?
It’s always best to contact us via e-mail. We function primarily as an Internet based business. We cannot guarantee that there will be a live person waiting on your phone calls. However, there is almost always a live person receiving e-mail during business hours. We’ve also found that communication via e-mail, especially where text is concerned, will reduce the amount of errors that can occur while transcribing verses, dates, and other text.
When can I expect delivery?
Unless you’ve placed a rush order, we will print your order and ship within ten business days of approval of your final proof. We ship most note card orders via UPS Ground Track, unless the customer requests something else. Some orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. We always choose the quickest, safest, and least expensive method of shipping orders.
I’m in a rush! There’s less than a month remaining until my affair. Can you help me?
Chances are good that we can help you, however there are surcharges added for rush jobs. We will also suggest FedEx shipping, or UPS Second Day Air shipping at the customer’s expense.
What is your return policy?
Please be sure that you’ve read through our Return Policy ! !
We accept returns on greeting cards that have not been customized. We only accept returns within 14 days of receipt of your order. The cards must be in the same excellent condition in which you received them.
If your cards have been customized, we do not accept returns in any case.
You’ve already done proofs, but now I want to cancel my order.
For orders brought to completion, proofs are given free of charge. For canceled orders, there is a non-refundable charge of $50 for proofs.
You made a mistake in my order! What will you do?
Please contact us immediately. We vow to remedy all mistakes made on our behalf.
I thought the cards were going to look different than this! This isn’t what I saw on your web site!
You saw a .jpg image on our web site, not a printed paper card. If you are concerned about the quality of our printing, please be sure that you request a sample before you place your order. It is of the utmost importance to us that our customers are satisfied, and that they return to us again and again. We ask that the customer follow the procedures as we outlined here, in order to achieve the best results, and mutual satisfaction for all of us.
How do I send my picture to you?
For a digital photo or a scan of a photograph, you can e-mail it to us. PLEASE BE SURE THAT YOUR E-MAIL IS CLEARLY IDENTIFIED IN THE SUBJECT LINE. Due to the profusion of viruses on line, we cannot risk opening any attachments that aren’t labeled clearly.
For the best print, please send an image with a 300 dpi resolution. .Eps files are best, but .jpg’s will do.
For a photograph printed from film, you can send it to us via surface mail.

How will the image be printed?
The image is laser printed. All our printing is done in house with professional quality laser printers.
Can I change the color of the borders and text?

On what type of paper is the card printed?
